They may become anxious, avoid challenges for fear of failing, or hide problems instead of asking for help. They become more willing to take risks, recover from setbacks, and speak honestly about their struggles. Resilience grows not from pressure but from feeling secure.

This does not mean abandoning standards or letting effort slide. It means separating a child's value from a score or a trophy. Encouragement, patience, and steady presence matter more than constant correction.
