Cricketer Rohit Sharma recently opened up about the lessons he has learnt from his two children and how their different personalities have influenced the way he deals with people around him, including his teammates.
Speaking about his experience as a father, Sharma said raising two children with distinct temperaments taught him that no two individuals respond to the same approach. He explained that what works for one child often does not work for the other, and that realization has carried over into how he handles players in the dressing room.
According to him, parenting has made him more patient and observant. Instead of applying a single method to everyone, he now tries to understand each person's nature before deciding how to communicate with them. He noted that some players need a direct conversation while others need reassurance and space, and that reading those differences has become easier for him since becoming a parent.
Sharma also spoke about the emotional side of fatherhood, saying that spending time with his children helps him step away from the pressure of the game. He described family time as a way to reset after intense matches and long tours, and added that the honesty and simplicity of children often put things in perspective for him.
The cricketer said these experiences have shaped him both as a person and as a leader, and that he continues to learn something new from his children every day.
